A Relaxed Dining Experience

The Boat Shed Restaurant epitomises what coastal dining on the Sunshine Coast is all about. Casual, friendly service with a focus on local produce and magnificent views over Maroochy River, it’s the Sunshine Coast’s best kept dining secret.

Located right on the river’s edge along the Cotton Tree esplanade and adjacent to the Cotton Tree Holiday Park, it’s perfectly positioned for all the family to enjoy a quality meal in the restaurant or a casual takeaway in the park.

Our relaxed restaurant atmosphere, sunset views and award-winning contemporary menu provide the perfect setting to enjoy a romantic dinner for two, special event or leisurely meal with friends; while our private lawn overlooking the water offers a stunning spot to enjoy tapas and a cocktail while sitting under the Cotton Tree.

Open 7 days from noon for Lunch and Dinner (expect Sundays, lunch only).

Our Story

The Boat Shed Restaurant’s story began in 1997, when owner Maryanne stumbled across the old Boat Shed, a quiet, hidden away spot perched on the Maroochy River’s edge.

Proudly sitting on the banks of the river, the Boat Shed’s views rival some of the most stunning places in the world and Maryanne was overcome with the beauty of the area.

What was once a thriving boat hire business with canoes, water trampolines and water craft activities had been hindered after years of strong currents and ever-changing river flow.

After tracking down the building owner, and working through town planning consent, the new Boat Shed Restaurant was born as a place for all to enjoy, not just a well-kept secret.

The Boat Shed Restaurant has since become well known for its stunning views, relaxed atmosphere and quality dining experience.

Now writing its own history again, The Boat Shed is more than just a restaurant, it’s the trunk of Maryanne’s family tree. Maryanne initially realised the vision with her father and soon after met and married her husband Adam at the restaurant.

Together they have built the restaurant into what it is today, alongside valued staff members who have greatly contributed to the success of The Boat Shed over the last 21 years.
